End of season wrap up!

Seahorse families,

Congratulations on a fantastic swim team season. This was Southall’s third winning season in a row and the first undefeated season since 2004!

We are incredibly proud of every one of our 131 swimmers. Success is measured by personal bests swims and over half our swimmers had 10+ personal best times this season.

In addition, congratulations to the swimmers who competed at the TSA Championship Meet this past Sunday. Southall sent the most swimmers to the TSA Championships since 2004. All the swimmers had 2-3 personal best swims during the meet.

This fantastic season would not have been possible without the dedication of our swimmers, the coaching staff, parents, community, and the Southall Board of Directors. Congratulations to every member of our Southall Seahorses family.

As we close out our swim team season, please:

  • Pick up Awards Banquet awards in snack bar if you were unable to attend the banquet (Note: ALL swimmers received an award!)
  • Reach out to Southall swim team parents or coaches to inquire about opportunities for your swimmer to swim during the fall 2024, winter 2024-25 and spring 2025 seasons
  • For more information on swim team goals and growth, please see details below.

Coach Tiffany shared the following regarding swim team goals, what we’ve accomplished the last three seasons, and what’s next!

Southall Swim Team Goals for Summer 2022-2024 (all achieved)

  1. Strengthen and grow positive culture and community amongst swim team at Southall
  2. Grow the team in numbers
    Results: 77 swimmers in 2022, 112 swimmers in 2023, 131 swimmers in 2024
  3. Develop a strong and successful team
Results: prior to 2022, Southall did not have a winning season since 2010. The last three seasons (2022, 2023, 2024) have been winning seasons with 2024 an undefeated season.

Southall Swim Team Goals for Summer 2025-2027

  1. Maintain and strengthen goals 1-3 from 2022-2024 seasons
  2. Develop Alumni Culture
The smallest member age group at the pool is 22-29. The coaches plan to work to develop Southall alumni swim events to encourage young adults to join the community and sustain the relationships they formed during their prior swim team experience.
  3. Strengthen, Retain and Build the Culture of swimmers age 11-18
In 2020, Southall only had 24 swimmers age 11-18. This season 25% of the team (38 swimmers) are age 11-18. (25% of the team is also in the 7-8 age group). The coaches established older swimmers events (Older Kid's Dinner, Older Kids' Triathlon and Older kids time of lock-in) to help build and support the older swimmers on the team.

We can’t wait to see your swimmer again next summer and congratulations again on a fantastic season. GO SEAHORSES!
